Hypocrisy: Where Are The Try-Hards?

I was livid and nauseous after reading this. Of all the hypocritical, asinine, condescending…Where are all the try-hard-loud-mouthed-chest thumpers? You know, the ones always crying about “cancel culture”? The ones screaming “FREEDOM OF SPEECH”? Where’s that energy?

I’ll tell you: They’re busy licking the boots of the olympic committee, talking about “Keep politics out of the Olympics”. UHH HELLO??? People just going to forget Tommie Smith and John Carlos?? Or does that energy only come out by the oppressors want to silence the oppressed?

Quoting directly from the article above:

“The committee said last month that athletes will not be allowed to protest during competitions as part of its long-standing ban on “demonstration or political, religious or racial propaganda.”

So this is what the Olympics committee wants to do now? Wearing “Black Lives Matter” apparel is racial propaganda? What in the name of all that is stupid?! This is stupid not only because it lacks intellectual and critical rigour, but also because it lacks consideration. Specifically, it lacks consideration for Black lives. This decision was carefully calculated, knowing fully well there are enough racists, bigots and bootlickers that will back it up.

Hypocrisy: Politics – Not Politics

There are hoards of people all over social media standing with the OC saying “politics should be kept out of sports”. But this is incredibly hypocritical and ironic for a few reasons. One, it shows how completely ignorant people are, and how they truly misunderstand politics. Black Lives Matter is not a political organization as far as I know. At least not yet. Black Lives Matter draws attention to a human rights issue. Namely, the fact that Black people are murdered and killed by the police at an alarming rate. It’s literally trying to bring attention to the fact that a house is being consumed by a fire. That is not politics, that is the destruction of life. There is nothing political about that!

When you see someone drowning in a river, you don’t sit back thinking about bills and legislation that should be passed. You jump in and help. Or you at least call for help.

And even if Black Lives Matter IS a political organization, so what?! Are people really going to ignore the amount of politics that goes into organizing the Olympics!?!? For god bloody sakes, think of how many laws, bills, legislations have to be drafted, proposed, signed, ratified, and passed for a country to host the Olympics! How many politicians receive kickbacks. How many companies profit from every event?!

In 2007, Beijing evicted about 1.5 million people from their homes, in the name of hosting the Olympics. People were kicked out of homes they and their families lived in for decades. You know how? POLI-BLOODY-TICS!!

Even More Hypocrisy

Ok, so, people are gonna say “Keep politics out of sports”…and completely ignore the fact that the decision by the OC to ban and punish athletes who wear BLM apparel is a POLITICAL decision?!? I mean honestly…who are these people trying to fool? They don’t understand what “Politics” means. Just please…even a Wikipedia search will do…just look it up.

I get angered and frustrated when organizations trample on human rights, and flex their political muscle to paint the oppressed in any negative light. I also get angered and frustrated when my intelligence is insulted BS like this

““It is important to protect athletes from the potential consequences of being placed in a position where they may be forced to take a public position on a particular domestic or international issue, regardless of their beliefs.” (taken from the article above in the Washington examiner)

Nobody gets forced to stand up for human rights. Nobody gets forced into wearing Black Lives Matter apparel. And trying to make people believe that’s what’s happening is fear mongering. Standing up for human rights is a choice. People either make it, or they stand with white-supremacist-capitalist-imperialists.

Closing Points

1-Black Lives Matter is not a political organization, as far as I know. At least not yet. They don’t hold any seats in Parliament, Congress, House of Representatives, Buckingham Palace, or anywhere else. Black Lives Matter has never ran for office, they don’t hold offices, or seats, have any senators, or members of parliament.

2-Anyone who accuses Black Lives Matter of being Marxists and Communists, has no clue of what either of those terms means. Your understanding of Marxism and Communism amounts to what the west has fed you and indoctrinated you to believe. Trust me. I have a Master’s in Philosophy and I still have trouble understanding Marx, and the whole history of Communism. So forgive me when I laugh at the jackass with a certification in Keyboard Wars and Youtube to come tell me they know more about those things than I do.

3-Wearing Black Lives Matter apparel is not political, it is taking a stand for human rights. And it’s absolutely sick that people would see it any other way than supporting the protection, humanity, and dignity of Black people.

4-When you say “KeEp PoLiTiCs oUt Of sPoRts”, you are siding with the very people who use politics and political influence to profit off of sports.

5-In the eyes of those people, politics and sports should only mix in order to generate profit. The buck stops if anything even resembling politics attempts to draw attention to human rights issues.

Look through the hypocrisy, politics are beings used to further oppress and silence Black people, and any attempt to draw attention to the horrors they suffer. There DOES need to be better political organizations to protect marginalized and oppressed people, but that would require confronting the racist roots of Capitalism, and the system itself. And doing so would jeopardize those who benefit the most from the oppression of Black people. Don’t be fooled, the OC won’t get behind Black Lives Matter apparel is because they know they can’t make money off it.
